My Setup: Poke, MCPs, and a Local Mac Bridge

I finally got my automation stack to a place where it actually works for me instead of the other way around. No over-engineered nonsense.

The core is a private VPS running a custom backend to handle my data and API endpoints. Poke sits in the middle as the orchestrator, running custom TypeScript scripts to coordinate everything.

The secret sauce is building custom MCP servers to act as translators between Poke and my personal tools. To tie it together, a local workstation bridge lets Poke reach out from the cloud and trigger scripts directly on my workstation.

It's fast, minimal, and invisible. Exactly how a setup should be.
